Kenneth Martin
Administrative Captain
Captain Kenneth Martin was born and raised in Middle Township where he currently lives with his wife and son. He graduated from Wildwood Catholic High School in 1998 and was hired by the Wildwood Police Department as Class 2 law enforcement officer. After working two summers for the Wildwood Police Department Captain Martin was hired by the Middle Township Police Department in August of 2000 and Graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy in January of 2001.
Captain Martin served as a Patrolman with the Middle Township Police Department’s Patrol Division until 2003 when he was assigned to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force. In 2004 Captain Martin returned to the Middle Township Police Department where he was assigned to the department’s Street Crimes Unit. Captain Martin rotated between the Patrol Division and the Street Crimes Unit until 2007 when he was assigned to the police department’s Major Crimes Unit.
In November of 2016 Captain Martin was promoted to the rank of Sergeant as the supervisor of the Street Crimes Unit. During this time, Captain Martin attended and graduated from The New Jersey Association of Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Academy. Captain Martin remained the supervisor of the Street Crimes Unit until November of 2022 when he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned as the administrative Lieutenant.
Through his career, Captain Martin was a member of the Department’s Honor Guard, Dive Team and a board member on the department’s Police Officer’s Association. Captain Martin has received numerous awards for his work in narcotics. Captain Martin has worked numerous large-scale investigations with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Alcohol Tabaco and Firearms (ATF) and the Secret Service. Captain Martin was also assigned to the FBI’s HealthCare Fraud Task Force for the last three (3) years.
