Jason Sweitzer
Administrative Lieutenant

Lieutenant Jason Sweitzer started his law enforcement career in 1998 with the Stone Harbor Police Department as SLEO Class I and then joined the North Wildwood Police Department in 1999 as SLEO Class II.  Lieutenant Sweitzer was hired by the Middle Township Police Department in August of 2001 and graduated from Cape May County Police Academy in January of 2002.  Lieutenant Sweitzer served as a patrolman for eight years, prior to being assigned to the Special Services Unit in 2010. In 2014 Lieutenant Sweitzer was assigned to the Major Crimes Unit as a detective until promoted to the rank of Patrol Corporal in 2020.  Lieutenant Sweitzer served in that capacity until being promoted to the rank of Patrol Sergeant in November of 2022.  In December of 2023, Lieutenant Sweitzer became Detective Sergeant of the Major Crimes Unit until he was promoted to his current rank of Administrative Lieutenant in May of 2024.

During his career with the Middle Township Police Department, Lieutenant Sweitzer has served as a Physical Fitness Instructor and a Military Drill Instructor at the Cape May County Police Academy.  Lieutenant Sweitzer also served as a member of the Major Crimes Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Bicycle Patrol Unit and Honor Guard Unit.

Lieutenant Sweitzer grew up in Cape May County and graduated from Middle Township High School in 1997.  He currently resides in Cape May County with his family.
